This week’s high five has to go to Toms. They’re one of my favourite brands for their unwavering support to those in need. We’re right in the midst of New York fashion week, and appropriately they’ve just launched a range of shoes in collaboration with fashion designer Prabal Gurung.
Formally the design director of Bill Blass, Prabal now runs his own eponymous label. Although born in Singapore, he grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal and it’s been the inspiration for his designs. For every pair of shoes purchased from the collection, Toms will not only give a new pair of shoes to a child in need, but will also give £5 to the Shikshya Foundation in Nepal. The foundation supports the educational needs of underprivileged children, and recently the aid relief efforts after the earthquake. For more information about the foundation please click here.
Tom’s were kind enough to send me a pair from this new collection, and I chose this new trainer shape, the Del Ray. Normally I’d reserve my Toms for sunny days and holidays, but this shape will work equally well through the autumn. My monochrome and neutral obsession, can make day-to-day outfits a little dull. Though in my opinion dungarees are never dull! So this black and white print with the pop of red is a welcome and fun addition to my wardrobe. Being Toms, the shoes are über comfy, so great for running after Daisy in the park.
