Everyone knows a 2nd child doesn’t receive the same attention as the first. Daisy aged 3 wks old cried and our parents rushed to her, worrying about what was the matter. I cry, mum takes note, then turns her back whilst she deals with Daisy climbing on the dining table. If I’m still crying after Daisy’s had a tantrum and been disciplined, then mum picks me up. That’s why I feel I need a monthly blog slot to rival Daisy’s, so that at least you won’t forget about me, Laurie Day.
Name: Laurie Day
Age: 1 month (nearly)
Achievements: Putting on an entire 0.5kg in just a week. I am heavier than Daisy was at 7 weeks as I have the appetite of my father.
Giving my mum a whole 4 hours sleep in a row one night, she said she could do life with 4 hours but not on the usual 2 hours I give her!
Charming my big sister Daisy, given her way she’d sit cuddling me for hours. Mum gets a little concerned when she starts covering me in blankets and her teddies though.
Developments: Convincing the midwives that I’m not jaundice, I am just naturally tanned. Daisy has mum’s pasty vampire like completion and blond hair, whereas I have inherited Dad’s dark hair and skin. Lucky me!
