The C word…

christmas-2016-2

I can’t believe I’m going to mention the C word, but the reality is it’s only 43 days until Christmas! And with x 2 kids and a new house that still doesn’t have book shelves, this year I’ll need to be super organized. So I thought I share with you my Christmas checklist, just incase it might help you too.

Christmas Checklist

  1. Decide on the Christmas décor theme. Will it be traditional red and gold, minimalist white or maybe urban cool with bright pops of colour? This has to be no. 1 on the list!
  2. Buy and write Christmas cards (note to self – don’t forget to post them!) It’s time to indulge in that old-fashioned pleasure of a handwritten note. I’ve got my eye on some from Taab London, I’ll make sure I post some pictures when they arrive.
  3. Bake some Christmas shortbread. Daisy loves cooking so this will keep her entertained for a while, plus I have some great Christmas cookie cutters coming from Laura Ashley, so watch this space….
  4. Ensure there are enough glasses of Champagne to go around. We’re at my sisters for Christmas Day, so I don’t have to worry about the cooking, phew. So I can concentrate on getting the right bubbles. I need to make sure I put in an order to the Wine Society.
  5. Make sure the living room is ship-shape. We’ve just moved house and there’s an empty space that needs a new sofa. Arlo & Jacob have these gorgeous snugglers which I have my eye on (see picture below). You can pick the shape and then the fabric, I’m thinking a deep teal or navy velvet. But don’t forget to order the Arlo & Jacob sofa by 14th November for delivery in time for Christmas.
  6. Wrap all the presents for the family and make sure they’re all under the Christmas tree. I’m a huge fan of using brown paper and string interspersed with gorgeous patterned paper, but bows maybe more your thing?
  7. Make sure there’s enough tins of Celebrations, Quality Street and Roses to go around – even if the strawberry and orange cream ones will be the last ones left! (Secretly I love them)
  8. Christmas candles are a must, I’m a huge fan of Kenneth Turner’s candles as their smell really lasts. Mulled spice, cinnamon and pine are all favourite scents for the festive period. Add a blanket, and a fur throw and you’ve totally embraced the word of the season, hygge.
  9. Plan Christmas day outfit. Velvet and lace are the fabrics for the season, but maybe you’ll just want to indulge in some luxury pyjamas and slippers all day, you choose!
  10. Find somewhere to sing some carols by candle light. I’ll be singing at my local church in Crouch End.

Have I missed anything out? Probably, I have complete baby brain so please comment below and let me know!

Seriously how gorgeous is this snuggler!
