Gone are the days when ethical clothing equalled rough fabric and hippy styles. Today you can find beautiful stylish clothes that are ethically and sustainably produced, and designed to last. One of my favourite online boutiques creating such clothes is Thought. Their mantra is, ‘wear me, love me, mend me and pass me on.’ Plus they are very affordable too, and even more so with the great discount I have for you, so do read on.
Sustainable Fashion? A Contradiction?
Now the terms sustainability and fashion don’t always sound like they should be in the same sentence. But I am a firm believer that you can dress to look contemporary and stylish and still be sustainable. The high street will attempt to sell you a whole new wardrobe each season. But if you are buying good quality clothes you won’t need to do this. You’ll just need to add a few new styles to update your wardrobe and replace any basics.
“Wear me, Love me, mend me and pass me on”
Last week’s beautiful sunshine, has kick started my need to sort out my spring wardrobe. So I thought you’d like to see the sustainable fashion items I’ve added in from Thought.
A White Embroidered Top
A pretty white top is a summer wardrobe staple and this Irvette Top from Thought does the job beautifully. Big sleeves are still a key fashion statement, and these are gently fluted so giving a nod to the trend without being irritating to wear. I love the floral embroidered design; scalloped hem and button back detail that make this top so pretty. It is a top you can wear from day to night. Wear with jeans and flats during the day, and pop on a pair of heels for the evening. When the sun comes out wear it with a skirt or culottes.

A Floral Jumpsuit
I actually discovered cotton jumpsuits when pregnant with Laurie. They are very comfy and great for UK summers. Also they require little thought to style so are perfect for a time strapped mum. This Passiflora printed jumpsuit from Thought is a great summer addition. It has a relaxed fit, but the tie waist and deep-cuffed hems ensure it is a flattering shape. Because it is sleeveless, I’m currently wearing it with a jacket. But if we have some more summer weather like last week, I won’t be wearing the jacket for long!

Thought’s Sustainability?
A great selection of sustainable fabrics are used at Thought, from organic cotton, to bamboo, organic denim and hemp. This gives their clothing range a real variety of textures and styles.
