You may have started to see a theme emerging in my posts? Lazy summer days, wearing yet another item of clothing decorated with embroidery, if not check out La Charente and Festival Fever. I’m afraid you’re going to have to bear with me whilst I indulge in talking more about my latest obsession: naive hand (like) stitched embroidery.
I bought the dress in the sale at Zara, I really liked the colourful Navajo inspired artwork on the cheesecloth fabric, very 70’s boho. The midi length is perfect, not too short, but equally not flapping about my ankles on a hot day. I also particularly liked the double strap back detail, but that is slightly beside the point.
In my hunt for embroidered tops and dresses, I’ve come across two slightly unusual brands who specialise in this type of embroidery that you might want to look at. Nina Kaufman is a womenswear Parisian brand. They use colourful embroidery and occasionally mirrors in tops, skirts, dresses and accessories. The collection is a fusion of East meets West, and if you (google) translate the french they declare it to be ‘a touch of madness that feels good to wear’. Cabbages and Kings is a Fairtrade kidswear brand, made and inspired by artisans living in Central Mexico, Peru and Bolivia. Their baby shoes are super cute, I almost wish Daisy was little again so I could buy her a pair.
Gorgeous dress!
