N4 Mummy at New Look SS15 Press Day!
Yesterday I braved central London, minus Daisy, to attend the New Look SS15 Press Day. If your child refuses to take a bottle or in fact anything that isn’t mummy’s boob, then you’ll understand leaving her for a couple of hours was slightly nerve racking! But, it was definitely worth it to get a sneak preview of the exciting trends that will hit New Look in SS15!
It’s official the 70’s are back!
Yes, it’s time to go digging about in the attic for those boot cut jeans, culottes & cheese cloth tops! On a practical note this is easy mummy wear, washed printed T’s & denim shirt dresses are great for those still breast feeding, & it’s an easy look to accessorize just add tassels, tasselled bags, shoes, jackets….
Sport Luxe Trend is here to Stay
This sports luxe trend is not going anywhere, clearly designers such as Alexander Wang (see collection for H&M) are continuing to influence the way we dress. The look is still minimalist, a simple colour pallet of white, black & grey mixed back with metallics. Update the look this SS15 with skinny rib dresses (great for showing off your bump if you’re pregnant!) silver accessories and make sure you invest in some “oh so comfy trainers”!
Magical Marrakech
This was a really easy wearable trend for high summer. Wear gorgeous geometric prints head to toe, either as a one piece or top & bottoms – it doesn’t matter. Good news, the more ripped your denim is the better! Jeans are washed or white & really relaxed & slouchy. Edges of garments are intricately embroidered. Oversized shirts are a must have item, make sure you have a blue & white pinstripe & a blue chambray shirt in your wardrobe to wear back with your ripped boyfriend jeans.
All in all I had a fantastic time & I’m really exciting about the up & coming season. The 70’s is a really new trend & a reason to go out and buy so thank you New Look for inviting me! Watch this space for a more detailed report of some of the accessories that are coming through too……
