Holidays, holidays, I think summer is my favourite time of year. It’s hard to feel gloomy when you wake up and the sun is shining. We’ve just spent two weeks in the South of France, where we spent most of the time outside. The weather wasn’t perfect, but in the battle of the sun vs. cloud, the sun won most days. One of the best bits about preparing for a holiday is choosing your summer sandals. This year, for the first time, Daisy got to enjoy this ritual too. After all who doesn’t love a new pair of shoes?
Our holiday sandals came from the children’s Spanish footwear brand Pisamonas. Being an avid Instagram follower, I often find really lovely European brands that offer something different to what’s available in the UK. But, then they either don’t deliver internationally, or the postage is really high. What’s great about Pisamonas is ALL deliveries and (most importantly) returns/exchanges are free of charge. So if you’re not sure how their sizing will come out it doesn’t matter. Also, I was amazed at how quickly the shoes arrived. I ordered them on Friday and they were here by the Monday morning. That’s the kind of service I like.
Daisy and I both went for a pair of Avarcas Menorcan Sandals. For despite the fact that Pisamonas is a children’s footwear brand, they have adult sizes in their key styles. They are real leather, and also unisex, which I am discovering, is a real bonus. For those of you that don’t know, I’m pregnant with a little boy and recently I went through all Daisy’s baby clothes and realised just how many are pink. Helpfully for the small sizes they also have an adjustable riptape strap, to give support to the child’s foot. So despite Daisy climbing up and down gates to view the sheep, or baa’s in her language, they stayed firmly on her feet.
I had difficulty picking from the seven different colours, but in the end I went for a practical (I kid myself!) white. I just really love clean lines and minimalist style dressing. Also white goes with anything, which means they can be my one pair of sandals for the summer. But, I equally could have got them in the tan nubuck leather, for a more boho style, eclectic look. That said, they have a very nice pair of suede fringe sandals that go up to an adult size 7, which would equally have done that job.
It’s a standard joke in our household that if I like something then it’ll be expensive. Years ago, whilst wedding dress shopping with my sister, I successfully picked the most expensive dress in the shop, without looking at the price tag. However, you’ll be glad to hear that these shoes are incredible value and no they’re not made in Bangladesh. All Pisamonas shoes are made in Spain, and for the sandals pictured prices start at just £21.50.
Clearly you only need one pair of sandals for the summer, but there are other summer shoes that are essential wardrobe staples. I particularly like Pisamonas canvas trainers without laces. Slip ons in summer are just so much easier especially when you’re trying to insist they don’t go outside barefoot. I also like their espadrilles, the classic Spanish holiday shoe, which come in an array of shapes and colours.

This is a sponsored post, but please note I only ever write about products I genuinely love and fit with my style.
Think I might ‘need’ some of those. They sound very good value. Are they really comfortable too?

They really are, I’ve been living in mine, though not today as it’s tipping it down with rain 🙁 x
CUTE! Sandals are my shoe of choice. These are so lovely and I *need* a few sandals to swap between over the summer because: sandal tan.
Matching Mumma and little one shoes makes me very happy, but never quite as happy as it makes my little one to be matching Mumma. Her happiest fashion days are days she matches me (or is dressed in costume).
