As you are all well aware, a couple of weeks ago I gave birth to a baby boy, Laurie. Tiredness, combined with a hot summer, has meant my capacity for wearing make-up has been limited.
Thankfully, I’ve been using a great range of skincare products, which has meant I haven’t had to worry about my face being seen in the nude, so to speak. Despite hormone changes and sheer exhaustion, I’ve had no spots or blemishes on my face. Remarkable. Normally my skin is a direct reflection of whatever is going on in my life. Stress = spots, Tiredness = puffy, baggy eyes and yes more spots.
Pevonia is a luxury spa skincare collection. All their products are natural and eco-friendly. I confess, though, I often find skincare ranges confusing, even within each brand there are so many different products and it’s hard to know what you need to buy and what works together. Pevonia, though have a helpful website where you can search for products by your skins symptoms, or by skin type.
For the past month, I’ve been using these items from their sensitive skincare range:
Daily Routine
Cleansing: Morning and evening I use the Sensitive Skin Cleanser, followed by the Sensitive Skin Lotion. The cleanser is creamy, and so doesn’t dry out my skin. I use a wet shammy cloth to make sure all the dirt is removed. The lotion I spray onto cotton wool and wipe my face and neck. This product is alcohol free, so again isn’t drying.
Soothing: I think this product, the Soothing Propolis Concentrate, is one of the main reason I’ve not been getting any breakouts. It’s made from Propolis and lavender, which are natural healers, which help to control breakouts. I’ve been using it after cleansing and before moisturising.
Moisturising: This Soothing Sensitive Skin Cream is wonderfully light on my skin, which in this hot weather has been essential. I have very dry, thirsty skin and yet it still effectively moisturises my skin. I’ve been using this morning and night after the Soothing Propolis Concentrate.
A Special Treat
As a special treat, twice a week I’ve been using the Enzymo-Sphérides Cream. It’s like a facemask, but it very suitable for a time poor mum as it only takes 2 minutes to work. I’ve been using in my bedtime skincare routine and on those days, I cleanse as normal, and then apply the mask. The Pineapple and Papaya enzymes within the cream break down impurities, blackheads and dead skin cells making my skin look brighter and clearer. I then wash it off with Phyto-gel Cleanser, which is a deep cleanser with a lovely fresh smell.
Pevonia skincare can be bought at www.pevonia.co.uk They have many lines suitable for different skincare needs. I’d love to try their Micro-Retinol Line, to tackle my aging skin, but it wasn’t suitable for me to use whilst pregnant.
