2014 has been quite a year! On my return from the Far East, for work, I discovered that I was pregnant. As I’m sure is the case with most people, I then recalled the number of cocktails drunk, sushi restaurants visited, blue cheese eaten and – who knows what I ate in Bangladesh? Before Daisy was born she (and I) travelled to a total of eight different countries and took innumerable flights. In July Daisy Annabel was born and quite radically changed our lives. The furthest we have been since then is a trip to France (lovely late October sun) but generally the geography of my life has somewhat shrunk to the postcode of N4.
Life has slowed down, but I have surprised myself as to how much I have enjoyed it. With Daisy, people stop, talk to me and help me out when needed. Thank you for all those who’ve let me to the front of a queue when she has had a melt down in the supermarket. It now takes me twice as long to walk to my local shops because I know people. We stop, chat and pass the time of day. London, for me, is no longer an isolated city full of busy people going from A-B with no time for anyone else. Ok, so having a meal out with my husband takes a little more organising and the number of Christmas parties I attended this year was dramatically reduced; but I get to hang out with a gorgeous little girl who makes me smile and, whilst sleep is still at a premium, that is enough for me!
Today amongst numerous presents opened and yummy food eaten, I want to take this moment to stop and remember another child born, Jesus God’s Son sent to be our Saviour. So it’s a Happy Christmas to you all from N4 Mummy, Daisy & husband. I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families. xxxx
