Each year around the middle of September, the fashion world goes into a frenzy. Designers and their teams are up all night executing last-minute style changes, or occasionally even complete over hauls, of their latest collection. Celebrities, editors, models and buyers alike are all madly sorting though their wardrobes, and liaising with stylists. For they must select and perfect several outfits for these very special 5 days. London Fashion Week is coming.
The world watches in anticipation for the wonderful new creations British designers will present. For often it’s at these shows that a new trend begins. Access to the prestigious shows are for the elite, those hallowed celebrities, editors and buyers who, to some extent, shape our wardrobes through the choices they make.
But fashion stylist Emma Slade Edmondson firmly believes that fashion should be for everyone. In fact she goes one step further; fast fashion is definitely off the menu, instead she opts for slow fashion seeking the latest trends in vintage shops and charity shops. This is where Charity Fashion Live comes in.
Charity Fashion Live
Described as their “styling aficionado”, on 19th September Emma Slade Edmondson will be challenging herself to recreate LFW looks moments after they come off the catwalk. How? Through using only what she can find in Oxfam’s Dalston Kingsland shop.
Is this possible? Here is the evidence from last year.
