Daisy copies me, goodness knows why; I guess it’s how she learns. I’ve caught her putting creams on her face, attempting to brush her hair and applying make up, please click here to see the most recent #parentfail post. But she also likes to mimic what I wear.
Living in a small London flat with a small child, equals washing hung out to dry on a near daily basis. It’s amazing how often I’ll come into the living room to find Daisy putting on my clean clothes. She believes in the art of layering, hence my x4 sets of knickers will be under a T-shirt which will be under several bras etc. So when I heard about a brand that did matching items for mummy and daughter I thought this would be something just up her street.
Lucy Peach Slice was founded in 2013 by mum Emma Prigmore, after making clothes for her three children turned into a series of commissions. She quickly went on to gain acclaim when she won Best Emerging Fashion Brand at the Junior Design Awards in 2014. Her SS16 collection features one key print, inspired by the ceiling of the New York Plaza hotel and comes in two colours pink and gold. What’s lovely about the collection is that though the print is the same for mum and daughter, the styles are not.
This cute Gladys dress that Daisy is wearing, has an amazing criss cross back feature. Made from 55/45 Silk/Cotton it’s not a tear around the park dress, rather it’s a special dress a party dress for weddings, birthdays and generally when I’m fed up of everyone saying “what a cute little boy!” There is also a dress for women in a flattering T-shirt shape in the same super soft silk/cotton fabric. If I weren’t pregnant, I’d definitely have worn it, as it would look great with a pair of white trainers. Instead I’ve dressed myself in this very versatile bump friendly cape, such an easy item to jazz up a pair of jeans or jersey skirt and a simple white T.
