I know I know, I’ve written about Etsy a lot of times. But there’s no chance this blog post will bore you as they have such a wide variety of sellers, offering affordable “one-of-a-kind” products. So today I’d love to introduce you to some Etsy sellers you might not have heard of. Sellers that I have bought from and whose products bring joy to our home.
Now Coronovirus has impacted us all in lots of different ways. But for many small sellers, financially this is a really difficult time. So if you need to send a contact free gift, or you just fancy sprucing up your house, then can I encourage you to have a look on Etsy. They’ve curated their own selection of editor’s picks, just click here to view. Or alternatively, read on to see some of my favourite items.
But before I start. In the interest of full disclosure I want to say that Etsy asked me to participate in their #StandWithSmall campaign, for which they kindly gifted me some products. Whilst this is not a paid for campaign, I do make a small commission if you make a purchase.
Etsy Pieces In My Home Office
Suede & Co and The West Twelve Paper Co.
The one room where the children are not allowed to go, is the office. It’s my little haven, a sanctuary of calm and order in an otherwise chaotic existence. I’ve always loved nice stationary, it gives me pleasure when I work and helps me focus the mind. Now when you buy from Etsy sellers, there is often the option to personalise a product. For Christmas I was given this gorgeous handmade pink leather laptop case from Suede & Co with my initials on it and also a personalised diary from The West Twelve Paper Co. The diary used to help me keep a lid on five chaotic schedules, now I’m using it to remind me of zoom calls and to meal plan. A real sign of the times.
Mooke
Lighting a candle and having a quiet moment to drink a cup of tea, are also things that I value. They help me block out the craziness of motherhood and focus on my work. Mooke sell affordable, organic skincare and candles. The Juniperberry and citrus soy candle has an amazingly refreshing and uplifting scent. Also, though not photographed, I’m a huge fan of their lip balm (currently free with every order) and face balm which smells of chocolate, yum.
Barton Croft
Barton Croft, hand make not-so-traditional tableware from their studio in Hampshire. Their plates and mugs come in an array of gorgeous pastel colours. This speckled mug was gifted to me last year when I worked with Etsy and has become a firm favourite for my pink tea 🙂 They no longer sell this speckled version, but they do sell this shape and matt finish.
Affordable Art From Etsy
Gallery walls are all the rage at the moment and Etsy is a great place to discover affordable art. I recently shared with you the gallery wall I created for my children in my How To Shop Etsy Like a Pro blog post. But we also have several other pieces of art from Etsy around the house. So here’s some art from my favourite Etsy sellers.
Margo in Margate
Margo in Margate, is probably most well known for her “Be Kind” prints that have been all over Instagram. We have her “Girl in a windmill dress” (see first photo) which currently isn’t available, but she has lots of other similar prints. Personally, I love her quirky style, celebrating love, kindness and the power of women.
Kaloola Jay
If you’re feeling sad that a holiday might not be on the cards this summer, then satisfy your need for wunderlust with Kaloola Jay’s prints. Think architectural pictures in soft pastels that focus on the Art Deco and Mid Century eras. My husband bought me the Miami McAlpin print for Christmas, and as I’m not going to Palm Springs anytime soon, this will have to do.
KCHossack Pottery
Ok so this isn’t something for your walls, but Etsy also has some sellers that sell beautiful handmade ceramics. KCHossack Pottery sell tableware in pretty pastel colours, with their signature scalloped edging. Yes, you’ve been very observant, I am somewhat obsessed by pastels at the moment. The pink dish I use to store my jewellery in, is actually sold as a butter dish, but that doesn’t really matter.
Traces Of Magic
Amanda, from Traces Of Magic illustrates personalised name prints for children. They are whimsical and depict animals and objects of the same letter as the child’s name. She kindly gifted Daisy and Laurie a print each last year. We loved them so much that we bought one for Clara, our 4 month old, when she arrived.
So I hope this post has inspired you to go and check out these fabulous Etsy sellers and support them if you can. Also, please do comment below mentioning any sellers that you love so other readers can check them out too. In the the meantime, please stay home and stay safe.
